Screen on the Green

It's a bird, it's a plane... no it's a great movie on a ginormous screen!

Every Saturday this August come see a family friendly flick at a Sacramento Park. "Screen on the Green" is free and open to everyone! Bring a blanket or lawn chair for your toosh and a sweatshirt to keep you cozy. My favorite part... the snacks! Make sure you load up on your own goodies before you head out. During the August 22nd movie food will be provided for a low price by the River Park Mother's Club. Movies begin at dusk (8:15pm).

Here's the Upcoming Schedule:
Bee Movie - August 8th - Grant Park (21st and C Streets)
Beauty and the Beast - August 15th - Babcock Park (Cormorant Way)
The Parent Trap - August 22nd - Glen Hall Park (Sandburg and Carlson Drives)

All in the heart of Downtown Sacramento...

The area's only International Hostel on H Street is turning the big 1-5! And you're invited to celebrate. This Tuesday, August 25th the historic home will host an ice cream social and jazz trio.

All year round you can benefit from its foreign flare. For $31 dollars a night (non-members) you can book a room for the in-laws or out of town friends. There are no age limits. Dorm style sleeping and private rooms are available. However, all visitors must share the same bathroom.
Unfortunately you are not eligible to stay if you live in Sacramento or up to 30 miles outside of the city. Stays for non-members can last no longer than 3 days per month.

If you've got a frequent guest who'd like to save some dough, the Hosteling International Network offers an annual membership of $28 dollars a year. Members can stay for up to 7 days per month, and only pay $28 dollars a night.

Gekkeikan.
The name is harder to say than signing up for sushi classes... it's a piece of cake, or uh, sashimi.
