Delta Discovery Cruises

Sail Away into the Delta Sunset...

For an unbeatable price, husband and wife sailors Heather and Steve Ingram want to introduce you to the beauty of the San Joaquin Delta.

Whether you're swabbing the decks of a Sunset Cruise, Senior Brunch or Jazz Sail, you are welcomed aboard as family.
The boat typically carries 50 passengers, most of whom you really get to know.

In this week's Sacramento Scene we depart on a 2 1/2 hour Sunset Psychic Cruise.
We depart from the Pittsburg Marina... and come back more insightful than we'd ever know.

Our cruise was $37 dollars a person... including one bar drink and an array of tasty booty... i.e. cheese cake bites, parmesan spinach bites, shrimp ceviche, stuffed mushrooms, marinated feta and greek olive skewers, brownie bites and cream puffs... whew!

The staff was just as talkative and entertaining as the talent on board.
Although the Medium, Aura Photographer, Tarot Card Reader, Spiritual Reader and Palm Reader were pretty interesting. Each reading cost an additional $20.

Book your get-a-way today!

Prom Paradise

Sequins, steak dinner and staying up late.
Prom. For some the word evokes emotions of butterflies and bliss and for others, well, a night that should be forgotten and never relived again.

I attended with my high school sweetheart, Jimmy. (We broke up just months after the big dance... sorry to disappoint.) For me it was a night to remember.

For the next week Fox40 Live is focusing on that big day.
Showing you the latest styles in tuxedo's, dresses and flowers.
We are not however featuring winter coats, which were a must for a Mid-West prom.
Tune in from 4:30am-9am M-F!

A Gourment Lunch for 6

            CULINARY ARTS CAFE... THAT'S AMORE

Quite possibly one of the tastiest and most affordable fine dining experiences we could find right in our own backyard.
Step inside the courtyard at Palmiter Jr. Sr. High School in Sacramento and you'll see the neon sign "Culinary Arts Cafe" in bright red letters.
Inside, students prepare a meal... salad, sides, main course and dessert... with the help of their educators.
They set up round tables with crisp table clothes, folded cloth napkins and a floral centerpiece.
Students must be 16 years old to qualify for the class, that's part of the Special Education program.  Many of the students cook for family members at home and need the experience.  Others are getting ready to interview for a real world restaurant job.
The dining experience in few words is charming, filling and unique.
To make your reservation (they serve on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of the school year) Click here.
The meal is $6, but the students accept tips.

EuroSunday

Zoom, Zoom.....

Drag the mini van over to the hottest euro car show this side of California.
Every other Sunday from 8:30-10am, catch rare, hot and vintage cars from across the pond in Roseville and Sacramento.
You can hob knob with the car's owners, down to earth as you and I.
They may even let you sit in the driver's seat and honk the horn.
It's free for drivers and gawkers to enjoy, and typically takes place near a great coffee place.
Click here for more information on the next EuroSunday.
Check out our review in the video player (5/1).
