SAVING MONEY Booking a Hotel

Saving Money on that Hotel Stay...

It was a City by the Bay weekend and the most satisfying part, I "Rebelled Against the Recession".
A week before the trip I logged onto a hotel search site to check out prices.  I found a hotel in my range $50-75.00.  Then I called the hotel to see how much they were charging for the room.  Turns out the online price was lower than the rate they gave me.  But parking was going to be an additional $27 bucks.
Solution:  Find street parking for free, which I did.  Also, ask the hotel if they offer a discount for AAA, military, seniors or state workers.

The hotel I selected offered a continental breakfast saving me about 30 bucks.
The hotel was also within walking distance of the attractions I wanted to visit.  I saved by walking, instead of jumping in a cab.
I researched a nearby restaurant for dinner.  After perusing the menu, and price list... I made a reservation.
To cap off the night, I enjoyed dessert at a much cheaper restaurant.
A total savings of close to $100 dollars.
Lets review:
*Book your hotel online by cross-checking prices
*Call the hotel to see if they're offering a better price or a discount.
*Find a hotel that's close to attractions.
*Make sure there's adequate street parking.
*Book a dinner reservation in advance, where you already know what you'll be spending.
*Grab dessert at a cheaper location.
