I am dedicating this entry to YOUR favorite summer treats. Those delicacies you wait all year for, that are most delish. Per the title of this entry... I present Bethany Crouch's picks. She's one of our Morning Reporters. Bethany says Mochii frozen yogurt on P and 16th Street is a "must visit". She recommends the original yogurt topped with kiwi and mango. I've had Mochii and if you like non-fat plain yogurt you'll like this.

I however, prefer the version with fat.
And apparently, according to Crouch, the "Mr. Pickles" on Folsom Blvd. has this thing called a "Merlino". It's a mix of fruit and ice.
My picks are two delicacies from the Midwest.
YOU ARE HERE
There's an "Ice Deli" a few miles from my parent's house. It's shaved ice... but way better. They have flavors like wedding cake, pralines and cream, dreamsicle, and my utmost favorite half sour apple and half sour cherry. The little stands are only open during the summer months and only available in the Springfield, Chatham and Rochester, Illnois areas. But if anyone wants to bring it out here to Cali, I'd be happy to scoop on the weekends. And secondly, Sonic. The fast food joint has these pie shakes. My fav is the banana cream. Real chunks of banana and pie crust! They also have Chocolate Silk and I think Pumpkin around October. What do you like? Hey I need something to do on the weekends besides going to the new champagne bar.

Merlinos is still around eh? There is a similar place called Hagens on El Camino and Walnut in Carmichael. With all these sweets, how are you staying so slim? Also, you're not getting a helluva lot of comments on your blog... much like my experience (and I wonder to myself "what gives?").

-Try a Leatherby's (Arden Way) black and tan. Actually, anything at Leatherby's is good. Just throw a dart at the menu.
-The Merlino's FREEZE ;)

I prefer water ice! East Coasters will be familiar with the deliciousness in a cup!!! It's frozen ice mixed with fruit or other flavors, but don't be confused-- it is not shaved ice.. or sno-cone like. It's especially awesome when mixed with ice cream

Leatherby's... Jason, you are referring to ALAN's Black & Tan. Gawd, it's been 1/2 a lifetime and they still have the same menu?
