A surprise! I thought this was going to just a run-of-the-mill romantic comedy, and boy was I wrong. More of a "romantic dramedy" this film deals with issue far great than of love. From the state of mind of life in the '90s, to prescription drugs, to Parkinson's disease, the great sex scenes between our stars, and an Oscar worthy performance from Anne Hathaway, this film gets inside, and just won't let you go.
Maggie (Hathaway) is an alluring free spirit who won't let anyone - or anything - tie her down. But she meets her match in Jamie (Gyllenhaal), whose relentless and nearly infallible charm serve him well with the ladies and in the cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales. Maggie and Jamie's evolving relationship takes them both by surprise, as they find themselves under the influence of the ultimate drug: love.
It one thing to want to see Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal naked, but it's another to see them at the top of their acting games. Um, ya get both here. I think there enough here for people who just like generic rom-coms, but there's a lot more, for the movie lover who likes a lot more.
