The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services just released 36 warning images, 9 of which will make their way across the front of cigarette packs and advertisements in 2012. And they want you to help decide which ones make the cut.

Beginning Friday, November 12th, you have the opportunity to weigh in with your thoughts and choices. There are three ways to do so:

FDA is seeking public comment on the proposed rule from Friday, November 12, 2010 through Tuesday, January 11, 2011. To submit an official comment during this time period:

* Go to www.regulations.gov and insert docket number FDA-2010-N-0568 into the “search” box and follow the prompts.

* Send a fax, with your comments, to 301-827-6870.

* Mail/Hand delivery/Courier (for paper, disk, or CD-ROM submissions) to the Division of Dockets Management (HFA-305), Food and Drug Administration, 5630 Fishers Lane, Room 1061, Rockville, MD 20852.

All comments should be identified by Docket ID No. FDA-2010-N-0568. It is only necessary to send one set of comments.

The FDA is one step closer to adding images to cigarette packages sold in America. They depict some of the outcomes of smoking...like how it can harm children. The public will get to have their input on the designs beginning November 12th. Some are saying the images are a bit graphic. Honestly, they don't even compare to what other countries have slapped across their boxes of stogies.

In 2001, Brazil became the world's second country to require graphic images that cover the packaging, illustrating risks of smoking.

You guessed it. As if the day after Thanksgiving weren't soon enough--stores are already dropping their prices. It's not Black Friday. It's PRE-Black Friday. Forget looking like a pretty little princess this Halloween. Or at least be a princess with an awesome bruise on your face. Most ghouls and guys have had bruises before--but you can make your next one bigger and better than all the others. And it won't hurt. It took me less than 5 minutes to create my look. Just think about yours looking something like mine...

This is what I used: purples, dark blue, and wine colored eyeshadows. You don't have to use any expensive brands. Dig through what you already have. If you want an inexpensive brand...check out NYC or Wet N Wild at stores like Walmart and Walgreens.

Wine:
I started with Maybelline's Sparkling Wine. I took the brush (the last pic)--and dipped it in a tiny bit of water to make sure the powder sticks...then into the eyeshadow. I used this as my "base" so I colored in a huge uneven circle around my eye. The circle went almost all the way up to my eyebrow and about an inch under my eye. Don't forget to make it wrap around the inner and outer corners too :)

Dark Purple:
Next, I used Almay Trio For Browns. Taking the same brush, I dipped it in water before the eyeshadow then colored in a smaller circle inside of the wine colored one. Don't worry about making it look perfect--no bruise is!

Lighter Purple:
I tapped a little bit of Bare Escentuals Idol around the dark purple inner circle, in random spots.

Dark Blue:
I tapped Bare Escentuals Skyline (a dark smoky blue--darker than the picture turned out) right under my eye and on the lid.

The brush I used:

**Once everything is on, take your finger and gently "smudge" out the lines so they aren't so harsh. Make the colors blend but still keep enough color difference to show off the bruise 'stages'. Now go and freak some people out >:]

Yes...that Bad Religion. Funny, I haven't really listened to them in about 9 years so these downloads were a cool and random find. You can get a free download of Bad Religion's Live Album through their site...and a free mixtape called Germs of Perfection: A Tribute to Bad Religion. Pretty awesome album with different groups doing covers of songs you'll probably remember.

Now where was this app when I needed it two weeks ago??!! I really can't stand shopping at malls (yes, I'm probably the only female who can honestly say that)--so you can imagine getting turned around really gets under my skin. For all you Verizon customers who have been waiting on pins and needles to get an iPhone--you'll be able to put your hands around one next year!! This will now knock AT&T out of the standing of being the only carrier to offer iPhone. Rumor has it...the design will be similar to the iPhone 4 but will offer the CDMA wireless technology used by Verizon.

But for all you AT&T customers--I also heard the 5th generation of iPhone is in the works...

If you thought DVD players were hot off the shelves when they first hit the market...think again. Apple's iPad is kickin' major technology tail since it went on sale. iPad sold more than 3 million units within the first 80 days after its release in April. And it hasn't stopped there. The current sales rate sits around 4.5 million units per quarter.
